iVOOMi Energy will start accepting bookings for e-scooters on May 30

iVOOMi Energy, an electric two-wheeler manufacturer, said in a statement that bookings for its S1 e-scooter will open on May 30 and deliveries would begin in mid-June.

In March of this year, the Maharashtra-based startup released two e-scooter models, the S1 and Jeet. The S1 priced At rs 84,999.

The company said in a statement that deliveries of the S1 e-scooter, which has been certified by the International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT), will begin in mid-June.

Sunil Bansal, co-founder and managing director of iVOOMi Energy, said, “We are confident that S1 will be a game-changer in the electric scooter segment, and we see this as an opportunity to demonstrate the performance of our solid-state electric motor, which offers a great driving experience and efficiency.”

S1 is powered by a 2kW electric motor that can reach speeds of up to 50-54 kilometers per hour. It was designed and built in India.

The electric scooter comes with a 60V, 2kWh swappable Li-ion battery pack for quick battery charge replenishment, alleviating domestic charging issues.

According to the press release, it takes 3-4 hours to fully charge and has a riding range of 100 kilometers.

The company also said that its vehicle will be accessible for test rides beginning May 28 in cities such as Pune, Nagpur, Gondia, Mumbai, Nanded, Kolhapur, Ichalkaranji, Ahmednagar, Surat, Bhavnagar, Adipur, and Kachh.

Customers will be able to pre-book the e-scooter after the test ride for Rs 749.

With its innovative battery-as-a-service (BaaS) concept, the firm claims to be one of the few players in the country riding the electric mobility wave, making it more cost-effective and convenient for clients than traditional scooters.
