New Delhi: The Indian Government has constituted a committee under the CBDT(Central Board of Direct Taxes) to give extra existence benefit for those who paid their Income taxes within the deadline.
In this scheme, Government is planning to give extra benefits to honest taxpayers while they will check in or check out at the airport. Interestingly, the government will make separate lines for them.
However, the purpose of this scheme is to spread awareness among the citizens to pay their taxes within the deadline.
A top official of the CBDT confirmed the news and said that the committee has been set up after the recommendations of the top leaders. He further said that the new move seems to be the counteractive measure to bring down black money and reward to honest taxpayers.
According to the sources, the government has also made the final step to provide immediate benefits to those who applied visa applications. In India, as per 2014 reports, only 0.1% of people show their income that is more than 1 crore annually and only 6.6% people show their annual income that lies between 10 lakhs to 1 crore.
However, most of the Indians are not liable to pay income tax because they don’t earn more than 2.5Lakhs annually, which is exempted from tax. According to the income tax statistics reports of the government of India, there are several categories of income earner like farmers who don’t have paid their income tax even, if they can earn more than 2.5L per year, added with many non salaried income earners like doctors and lawyers who pay lower rate of income tax.
Top officials said for the condition of the anonymity if the incentive program sees the light of the day, you could get an opportunity to have a cup of tea with the state governor, senior bureaucrats and maybe enjoy priority check-in at airports, toll lanes, and free airport lounge.
