New Delhi is the capital of India. Mahindra, a well-known Indian automaker, recently stated that a new electric SUV based on the XUV300 platform will be released next year. Mahindra is expected to introduce its electric SUV in the first quarter of next year, i.e. in January 2023. This new model is also being tested on Indian roads by the firm. According to some sources, the new vehicle would be known as the Mahindra XUV 400 EV.

The XUV 400 EV will also appear to be considerably different from Mahindra’s original XUV 300 sub-4 metre SUV, according to spy photographs. Because the sub-4-meter rule for subsidy advantages does not apply to electric vehicles, Mahindra’s upcoming XUV 400 is projected to be 4.2 metres long.

When it comes to the design of the next XUV 400, it will have a round profile rather than a boxy or flat profile like the XUV300. This SUV’s rear design has been entirely overhauled. This vehicle will also feature a revised tailgate and bumper design. The design of the taillights has also been entirely altered.

More photos of this model have revealed that, unlike ordinary electric cars, the charging port will be located on the front fender. The majority of the design aspects of Mahindra’s new vehicle will be comparable to the e-XUV300 prototype. At the 2020 Auto Show, the e-XUV300 was on display. A closed front grille, alternative style bumpers, new headlamps, and alloy wheels will all be available for the XUV400.

XUV400 to be based on MESMA

It’s worth mentioning that Mahindra’s upcoming electric SUV is the company’s first production model based on the company’s Electric Scalable Modular Architecture (MESMA). This SUV will have two battery pack options, as well as a 350V and 380V powertrain. According to reports, the tiny capacity battery can provide a range of 300-350 kilometres. This battery, according to reports, will compete with Nexon EV. More range will be provided by the same huge capacity battery. The Nexon EV Max, Hyundai Kona EV, and MGZS EV will all be competing against it.

On Independence Day, Mahindra will make a number of unique announcements.

Mahindra will also introduce the e-KUV100 tiny electric SUV. Before the end of the year, this car will be released. A few weeks later, on August 15, the business will unveil three new electric SUV ideas. These concepts will serve as a glimpse of the design direction and technologies of the next electric SUV.
