Skoda Slavia sedan prices hiked within three months of launch, know new and old prices

Czech Republic’s leading automaker Skoda Auto India has increased the prices of its newly launched mid-size sedan car Slavia (Slavia), in the Indian market. The new Skoda Slavia has now become costlier by up to Rs 60,000 depending on the variant. It was launched in February this year with a starting price of Rs 10.69 lakh to Rs 17.79 lakh.
Increased Price
The Slavia sedan is offered in 3 trim levels – Active, Ambition and Style. The new Skoda Slavia is now available at a starting price of Rs 10.99 lakh for the base 1.0-litre TSI MT Active variant. The top model 1.5 TSI DCT Style variant is now priced at Rs 18.39 Lakh (ex-showroom). The Active and Ambition variants have now become costlier by up to Rs 30,000. While the Style 1.0-litre version has become costlier by Rs 40,000. The top-spec styling 1.5-litre MT and AT variants have received a price hike of up to Rs 60,000.
Variants and Engine Options
The Skoda Slavia sedan is based on the Czech carmaker’s MQB platform which is also used in the Kushaq (Kushak) SUV. The 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine from the Skoda Slavia is available as standard in all three trims – Active, Ambition and Style. While the 1.5-litre Slavia is available only in the top style variant.

Features list also updated
Skoda has not only increased the prices but also updated the feature list of the new Slavia. Due to the ongoing global semiconductor chip shortage, koda has replaced the 10-inch infotainment screen found in Slavia. An 8.0-inch screen is now being given in this sedan car. Along with this, the wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto have also been removed in the car. Let us tell you, Skoda recently increased the prices of its compact SUV Kushaq by up to Rs 70,000.
Look and design
In terms of size, the Slavia is longer, wider and comes with better ground clearance and wheelbase than the other cars it competes with in its segment. In length, it is only slightly smaller than the Honda City. In terms of design, it generally gets a modern-day feel with European elements. The Slavia gets the complete front grille with chrome surround, similar to the Skoda Kushak’s grille and features LED head lights and LED DRLs on either side.

Safety has been taken care of in Skoda Slavia. 6 airbags have been given in this sedan car. Along with this, many safety features like ABS, Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Multi Collision Brake, Traction Control System, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Electronic Differential Lock, Electronic Stability Control, Hill Hold Control, Rain and Light Sensors. Engine and power
1.0-litre engine
Skoda Slavia sedan car 1.0-litre engine generates 113 bhp power and 175 Nm torque. With both manual and AT units on, it claims to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in around 10.1 seconds. The AT model also gets two drive modes – Normal and Sport.
1.5-litre engine
At the same time, the 1.5-litre TSI engine of the more powerful Skoda Slavia generates 150 hp power and 250 Nm torque. This makes it the most powerful petrol mid-size sedan in the country at the moment. Skoda claims that this car can accelerate to 100 kmph in less than 10 seconds. Along with this, this car gives a mileage of slightly more than 18 kmpl.
Competition
In the mid-size sedan segment in the Indian market, Skoda Slavia competes with cars like Honda City (Honda City), Maruti Suzuki Ciaz (Maruti Suzuki Ciaz), Hyundai Verna (Hyundai Verna) and Volkswagen’s upcoming Volkswagen Virtus.
