MG Motor India MG Motor’s new electric car is coming, the price will start from around Rs 12 lakh

MG Motor is one of India’s few automakers with an electric car lineup. The SAIC-owned British automaker is preparing to launch its next electric car in India, which would cost between Rs 12 and 16 lakh. Rajiv Chaba, President and MD of MG Motor India, stated this at a media event. However, he did not specify what this model will look like or what its characteristics would be. In India, MG Motor now sells the ZS EV electric car, which competes with cars such as the Tata Nexon EV and the Hyundai Kona EV.

Chaba went on to say that 3,000 to 4,000 individuals in India buy electric cars every month. This, in his opinion, is a healthy trend, and it appears that the carmaker intends to profit on it.

MG Motor just unveiled the MG4, its latest electric vehicle. Its sales will begin in various markets throughout the world by the end of 2022. The MG4 comes in Europe as a low-cost electric vehicle. The premium electric hatchback is expected to sell roughly 150,000 units by 2023, according to the automaker’s plans.

The MG4 could be the brand’s next electric vehicle in India. However, the car manufacturer has yet to confirm this. The MG4 has a range of 452 kilometres on a single charge. The EV has two battery options: 51 kWh and 64 kWh.

Electric vehicles are rapidly gaining market share in India. While electric two- and three-wheelers dominate the industry, EVs in passenger vehicles have experienced rising customer demand and good attitude. Automakers are offering new models in this area as consumer mood and buyer demand improve.

With its Nexon EV and Tigor EV, Tata Motors now leads the segment in the country. Mercedes-Benz (Mercedes-Benz), Audi (Audi), Volvo (Volvo), BMW (BMW), and Porsche (Porsche) have all already introduced products in this category.
