‘Don’t Want Such Security’, Says AAP; Kejriwal Stopped by Gujarat Cops from Going to Auto Driver’s House

In Arvind Kejriwal’s Gujarat visit an auto driver from the audience requested him to have dinner at his home which the CM shortly accepted.

Aam Aadmi Party National Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal were on a two-day visit to Gujarat where he was stopped by police from visiting an auto-rickshaw driver’s house in Ahmedabad. Reacting to the same, AAP has raised concern claiming that the BJP prevented Arvind Kejriwal from going to the auto driver’s house for dinner.

AAP shared a video on Twitter where the CM can be seen speaking to police personnel and saying that he does not need security from Gujarat Police. “You should be ashamed. The people of Gujarat are suffering because the leaders here don’t engage with the public. We are engaging with people and you are stopping us. You take your security; we don’t need it. You are forcefully giving us security. I have given you in writing that I don’t need security,” Kejriwal said.

Previously on Monday, Kejriwal addressed a gathering of autorickshaw drivers at Ahmedabad. The elections there are anticipated to be held later this year. There was an instance when an auto driver in the audience requested him to have dinner at his home which Kejriwal accepted immediately.

Vikram Dantani, the auto driver in a video can be heard saying that he had heard of Kejriwal sharing a meal with a Punjab driver.

“I’m a big fan of yours and I saw a video of Kejriwal having dinner with an auto driver in Punjab. Would you like to have dinner with me as well?” he says. In response, Kejriwal assured him that he and two other members of his party would attend the dinner.

Kejriwal asked him with a smile, “What time should we come? Will you come to my hotel tonight to pick me up in your auto?”
