Dhokha Round D Corner: A Claustrophobic-Thriller with Stellar Performances from the Star Cast

The movie opened on an ideal commercial note and grossed an income of Rs 1.25 crores

Dhokha Round D Corner starring Aparshakti Khurrana, Khushali Kumar, Darshan Kumar and R Madhavan was released on Friday, on the occasion of National Cinema Day.

Although due to the celebration of National Cinema Day, the tickets were sold at lower rates as compared to usual days, the movie opened on an ideal commercial note and grossed an income of Rs 1.25 crores.

Kookie Gulati’s Dhokha Round D Corner could be Madhavan’s next big project after the incredible success of his directorial movie, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, in which he played the role of an ISRO scientist.

In one of the recent interviews when the media questioned the actor about his future directorial plans, Madhavan maintained that his current focus is on acting and he’s nowhere on the lines of becoming a director.

I’m a by chance director… so for me to say that I look forward to directing another film, it has to come from my heart or a story that I relate to but for the moment I’m enjoying doing films like this one – Dhokha for instance.” R. Madhavan replied.

Kookie Gualti’s movie Dhokha Round D Corner is a claustrophobic hostage drama that is full of lies at every turn. The story revolves around a married couple, Yatharth (R. Madhavan) and Sanchi (Khushali Kumar), who are on the verge of getting divorced. Their lives go up for a toss as a Lashkar trained terrorist, Gul (Aparshakti Khurrana), enters their apartment in Mumbai and takes Sanchi, who is suffering from a delusional personality disorder, hostage to fulfil his demands. The terrorist awaits execution after being involved in the hostel explosion, killing 15 students.

The director of the movie made sure that the script was loaded with some unbeatable twists and turns. Every character in the story has gripping and dirty secrets. The script writers managed to keep these secrets under the wrap till the very end of the movie. The suspense thriller is shot entirely in one location.

Talking about the stellar performances of the star cast, Aparshakti Khurrana, who has given his blood and sweat to the movie while playing the character of the Lashkar-terrorist, Gul has done complete justice to the Kashmiri Twang. Khushali Kumar has pulled off the volatile and manipulative role of Sanchi, who suffers from a delusional personality disorder. R. Madhavan delivered a gripping on-screen performance as Yatharth, but after watching Rocketry, this can’t be called the actor’s finest performance.
