‘Desh Ka Nuksaan Hoga’, Akshay Kumar Urges People To Not Boycott Bollywood Movies

People online demanded a ban on Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha, then Alia Bhatt’s Darling, and now Akshay Kumar’s upcoming film Raksha Bandhan has joined the fray.

People online demanded a ban on Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha, then Alia Bhatt’s Darling, and now Akshay Kumar’s upcoming film Raksha Bandhan has joined the fray.

After writer Kanika Dhillon’s old tweets resurfaced, people are calling for a ban on Raksha Bandhan. For her previous tweets, she has been labelled as Hinduphobic.

In response to the current trend of people demanding movie bans, Akshay Kumar urged people not to boycott films.

In a conversation with news agency, he said, “Humare yaha toh sab cheez ko boycott kardo, isko kisika ka channel ban kardo. Toh kisi ki yeh ban kardo, kya hai yeh? Yeh ek fashion sa ban gaya hai and dekhiye, main haath jodh ke unn logo se vinti karna chahta hu ki bhai, ban karke kiska nuksaan hoga? Desh ka hi nuksaan hoga.”

As he discussed the #boycottLaalSinghChaddha and #boycottRakshaBandhan trends online, Akshay previously stated that India is a free country where people have the right to do whatever they want.

He was quoted as saying, “As I just said this, it is a free country, everyone can do what they want. But this all (Raksha Bandhan and Laal Singh Chaddha) helps the economy of India. We are all at the verge of becoming the biggest and the greatest country. I would request them (trolls) and you (media), don’t get into it.”

It is said that Kanika Dhillon deleted the tweets in question after people demanded a ban on her movie. Taking a dig at this, Kangana Ranaut took to Instagram to slam her.

“Ha ha nothing affects them as much as financial loss… only the fear of financial loss can make them delete Hindu phobic and anti-India tweets, nothing else… interesting.”

Directed by Anand L Rai, Raksha Bandhan which also stars Bhumi Pednekar is all set to be released on Aug 11 along with Laal Singh Chaddha.
