MS Dhoni set to make film debut in Kollywood; produce film starring Thalapathy Vijay

Former Indian captain MS Dhoni has a tremendous fan base both inside and outside of India. Dhoni has won the hearts of Tamil Nadu cricket fans after guiding the Chennai franchise to four titles in the Indian Premier League. Dhoni, also known as Thala, has admitted to the love and devotion he receives from the people of the state and has opted to play his final IPL game in Chepauk stadium as an homage to his admirers.
Previously, Dhoni signed Nayanthara, a well-known South Indian actress, to appear in one of his productions. Dhoni is apparently slated to produce megastar Thalapathy Vijay’s film, and the formal announcement will be made on June 22, which is also the actor’s birthday. According to speculations, Thalapathy Vijay would release the first look of his film Thalapathy 66 on June 21.
According to reports, Thala will not only produce the film but will also appear in a brief cameo role. Previously, Dhoni and his wife Sakshi established Dhoni Entertainment Private Limited in 2020 with the goal of becoming top producers in Kollywood, or the Tamil film industry. Notably, Dhoni has had success in Bollywood as well, as a film based on his life, ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story,’ starring the late Sushant Singh Rajput as the Indian cricketer, was a box office triumph.
Arun Pandey produced the film, which also features Kiara Advani and marked the debut of actress Disha Patani. In cricket, Dhoni will continue to captain the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2023 following a poor IPL 2022. Notably, Chennai had a terrible season, as they were eliminated from the league stage after losing five consecutive games in the 15th edition of the league.
