Ishan Kishan jumps from 68th places to 7th in the ICC T20I hitters list, Full List here!
In the new ICC T20I rankings revealed on Wednesday, India opener Ishan Kishan rose 68 places to seventh among batsmen, while the bowling combo of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Yuzvendra Chahal also improved.
Kishan has jumped into the top 10 among T20I batsmen after having one of India’s most consistent performances in the ongoing T20I home series against South Africa, accumulating 164 runs in three matches, including two half-centuries.
With KL Rahul in 14th place, the 23-year-old is the only Indian batter in the top 10.
Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer have both slipped a position to 16th and 17th place, respectively, while Virat Kohli has dropped two places to 21st place.
Josh Hazlewood of Australia has reclaimed the top spot among T20 bowlers, while Maheesh Theekshana of Sri Lanka has risen 16 places to seventh.
In the Test rankings, Jasprit Bumrah has climbed to third place, behind compatriot Ravichandran Ashwin, who has remained at number two.
Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin, on the other hand, remain at the top of the all-rounders’ rankings.


In the ongoing ICC World Test Championship series against New Zealand, Rohit and Kohli remained seventh and tenth among batsmen, respectively, while England’s Joe Root is back at the top after hitting his second consecutive century.
Root has reclaimed the top spot from Australia’s Marnus Labuschagne, who he was within striking distance of after the first Test. He presently has a five-point lead over Labuschagne.
Root has 897 points after scoring 176 in the first innings of the Nottingham Test, 20 points less than his previous high of 917.
Root took the lead in August 2015 and held it until December 2021, when Labuschagne surpassed him. So far, he’s been No. 1 in tests for 163 days.
Others who have had significant vigils at the top in recent years include Steve Smith (1,506 days), Virat Kohli (469 days), and Kane Williamson (245 days).
Root’s teammates, including player-of-the-match Jonny Bairstow and captain Ben Stokes, have also made significant improvements.
Bairstow’s 92-ball 136, which guided England to a five-wicket triumph on the last day, has moved him up 13 places to 39th, while Stokes’ 75 not out has moved him up from 27th to 22nd.
Batters Ollie Pope (up 22 places to 53rd) and Alex Lees (up 26 places to 86th) have both moved up the rankings, while seam bowler Matthew Potts has moved up 18 places to 59th after taking three wickets in the match.
Daryl Mitchell’s 190 and 62 not out for New Zealand have helped him climb 33 places to a career-high 17th rank, while Tom Blundell’s first innings century has helped him climb four places to 31st place.
Devon Conway moved up one spot to 23rd after innings of 46 and 52. Trent Boult, a fast bowler, has moved up four positions to ninth.
