Ellen DeGeneres bids her talk show farewell after a 19-year run

Ellen DeGeneres is getting ready to say goodbye. An insider recently told Page Six about the behind-the-scenes atmosphere at Ellen’s world-famous talk show since she decided to leave the 19-year-old show. On April 28, she filmed the final episode of her talk show with Jennifer Anniston and Pink, who were the first guests on the show in 2003.

During the interview, the source stated that “Ellen has been crying a lot” and that “the entire few weeks leading up to the finale were very emotional.” While the comedian was sad to leave her titular show, she did not go out with a bang and instead chose a quiet retreat, as another source stated, “She wanted to go out quietly.” They revealed that her most recent recording was a low-key affair, with “friends and family of the cast and crew in the audience.”

The 64-year-old comedian posted a video that featured her with Jennifer Aniston as they shoot the last episode. We see Ellen discussing the same with the Friends star. Also, Aniston, who as the first guest on the show’s first episode gave DeGeneres a “Welcome” doormat, arrived with another that read, “Thanks for the memories.” DeGeneres noted the Friends star has been on the show a total of 20 times.

Meanwhile, another came forward to give fans a behind-the-scenes look at what happened on the show’s final episode “Ellen did everything on her own terms. She went out in the manner she desired. On the last day, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.” Friends actress Jennifer Anniston, according to the report, burst into tears as she walked up the set and embraced DeGeneres. Ellen’s wife Portia de Rossi, as well as many other comedian friends and her brother Vance DeGeneres, have been on set for the last few weeks to support her.
