UP Budget 2022: Focused On Women Safety & Anti-Terror Projects

Suresh Kumar Khanna, Uttar Pradesh’s finance minister, introduced Yogi Adityanath’s second-term government’s inaugural budget in the state assembly on Thursday, totaling over Rs 6.15 lakh crore.

The new programmes are budgeted for at Rs 39,181.10 crore in the Rs 6,15,518.97 crore budget for the financial year 2022-23.

For the fiscal year 2021-22, the Adityanath government presented a budget of Rs 5,50,270.78 crore.

Khanna, who is seated next to the chief minister, announced that a budget of Rs 276.66 crore has been recommended for the Uttar Pradesh special security force, which is responsible for the security of courts, historical and religious sites like as Ayodhya, Kashi, and Mathura.

According to him, the second phase of the 112 plan would begin this year, and an allocation of Rs 730.88 crore is recommended for its strengthening.

According to Khanna, the budget proposes the establishment of cyber support centres at the district level, as well as a contribution of Rs 72.50 crore for the women empowerment scheme.

Under the Mission Shakti, a budget of Rs 20 crore has been requested for women’s safety, empowerment, and skill development.

Under the farmers’ accident scheme, the budget proposed Rs 650 crore for farmers. The policy allows for a maximum payout of Rs 5 lakh in the event of accidental death or incapacity.

According to Khanna, 15,000 solar pumps would be installed in the fiscal year 2022-23, and farmers will receive 60.20 lakh quintal seeds.

He also mentioned that the budget has set a target of distributing 119.30 lakh metric tonne of fertilisers, as well as a provision of Rs 1,000 crore for the Chief Minister’s Minor Irrigation Scheme.

Khanna stated that the free tablet and smartphone scheme for youth began in December of last year and that around 12 lakh tablets/smartphones had been handed to them to yet.

According to the party’s ‘Lok Kalyan Sankalp’ Patra, 2 crore smartphones/tablets will be provided to the young in the next five years.

The budget proposes Rs 1,500 crore for the Swami Vivekanand Youth Empowerment Scheme.

According to him, the new UP Startup Policy-2020 aims to develop 100 incubators and 10,000 startups in the next five years to foster entrepreneurship and innovation among the youth in various industries.

The state government has introduced the Chief Minister Abhyudaya Yojana in all divisional headquarters with the goal of providing coaching facilities to competitive students near their homes.

The scheme is being expanded to all of the state’s districts, with a budget of Rs 30 crore allocated for the scheme, according to the minister.

For the first three years of employment, a provision of Rs 10 crore is suggested to offer financial help to young lawyers for the purchase of books and magazines.

In the Varanasi district, an allocation of Rs.95 crore is also planned for land purchase for the building of an International Cricket Stadium, he said.

According to Khanna, 26 crore man-days were created under the MNREGA plan in the fiscal year 2021-22, with a target of 32 crore man-days in the fiscal year 2022-23.

According to him, the Chief Minister’s Village Industries Employment Scheme has a goal of employing 16,000 people by 2022-23 by creating 800 units.

According to Khanna, the ending of the interview process in teacher selection resulted in the selection of 40,402 instructors and the creation of 7,540 new positions in secondary school.

In the sector of medical education, there is a significant potential for job creation. About 3,000 nurses have been hired by government medical colleges and hospitals, and 10,000 new positions have been created, which will be filled in the coming years, he said.
