The Indian hockey team will compete in the first season of FIH Hockey 5
New Delhi, India The Indian hockey team will compete in the first season of FIH Hockey 5, which will be contested on June 5 and 6 in Lausanne, Switzerland, with Gurinder Singh as captain and Sumit as vice-captain of the nine-man squad. In the competition, India will face Malaysia, Pakistan, Poland, and the hosts, Switzerland.
The team consists of players from the Olympic bronze medalist team as well as those who competed in the FIH Junior World Cup last year.
Pawan, Sanjay, Mandeep Mor, and Gurinder Singh are among the goalkeepers. Sumit and Rabichandra Singh, as well as Dilpreet Singh, Mohammad Raheel Mausen, and Gursahibjit Singh, have been named to the squad.
In the nine-man squad, Pawan, Sanjay, and Rabichandra were also members of the Indian team that won silver at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in the hockey 5S format. Last year, they competed in the Junior World Cup in Bhubaneswar, and Sumit and Dilpreet Singh were members of the Olympic bronze medalist squad.
Additional players for the competition include Prashant Kumar Chauhan, Bobby Singh Dhami, and Sudip Chirmako.
