The Gyanvapi mosque case is scheduled to be heard by the Supreme Court and a Varanasi court on Thursday. Assistant court commissioner Ajay Pratap Singh said the survey report consisting of 10 to 15 pages has already been submitted to the Varanasi court. The court-appointed special assistant commissioner, advocate Vishal Singh, said this is the report of the survey done inside the premises on May 14,15 and 16.
Here are the top updates on the Gyanvapi case:
1. The court-appointed special assistant commissioner, advocate Vishal Singh, said he did not submit any application for the removal of former court-appointed commissioner Ajay Mishra, who filed a survey report he did alone on May 6 and 7.
2. Advocate Vishnu Jain, representing the Hindu side in the case, said they have requested legal time in the Varanasi court to take some adjournment today as the matter will also be heard today before the Supreme Court.
3. “As far as the application for demolition of the wall beneath the wazu khana is concerned, we will take some time. I hope the Muslim side is also seeking time to file their objections to our application,” advocate Vishnu Jain said. A plea sought to shift pipelines through which water is supplied for Muslim devotees to perform ‘wuzu’.
4. The Supreme Court will hear the petition filed by the Masjid committee that challenged the court-ordered survey.
5. All India Muslim Personal Law Board on Wednesday decided to extend legal assistance to the Muslim side in the ongoing Gyanvapi Mosque case. In a two and a half hours emergency meeting of its executive committee convened today, discussions were held on the Gyanvapi row and Tipu Sultan mosque while some major decisions were also taken.
