‘Maharashtra, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Telangana didn’t cut VAT on fuel’: PM Modi
PM Narendra Modi has urged the CM’s of four opposition states to cut VAT on fuel for the first time since the hike in fuel prices.
Modi noted that some states did not cut taxes on petrol, diesel after Centre cut excise duties which is unfair to people there.
“Centre reduced the excise duty on fuel prices last November and also requested states to reduce tax. I am not criticizing anyone but request Maharashtra, West Bengal, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Jharkhand, TN to reduce VAT now and give benefits to people,” Modi said.
